# Keys

Every keyboard shortcut in the studio.

Press `?` in the studio to see these on screen.

| `⌥L` | Pin or unpin the loupe |
| `⌘O` | Open project file |
| `⌘S` | Save project |
| `⇧⌘S` | Save as look |
| `⌘Z` / `⇧⌘Z` | Undo / redo |
| `Space` | Play / pause (video too) |
| `⇧C` | Canvas size |
| `N` | Generate: an image, clip, sound or effect |
| `X` | X-Ray the stack |
| `S` | Variations of the generator |
| `G` | Signal graph |
| `E` | Export |
| `K` | Looks (with a video source: pause) |
| `J` / `K` / `L` | Video: reverse, pause, forward (press again for 2×, 4×) |
| `←` / `→` | Video: step one frame (⇧ for one second) |
| `I` / `O` | Video: set In / Out (⇧I / ⇧O jumps there) |
| `⌥X` | Video: clear In and Out |

| `V` / `A` | Pointer: select and move; 3D layers orbit |
| `T` | Type tool: click text to edit it, click empty space for new text |
| `Double-click text` | Edit it in place (Esc cancels, ⌘Enter or click away keeps it) |
| `⇧T` | Transform box (⇧T again, Enter or Esc to hide) |
| `⇧L` | Open or close the timeline lanes |
| `C` / `D` | Crop / Distort |
| `O` / `L` | Orbit 3D / Light (video projects: use the menu) |
| `3D` | Drag orbits · right-drag moves · ⌥-scroll dollies · double-click or . resets · flick to spin |
| `⇧F` | FX overlay |
| `⌥R` / `;` / `⇧;` | Rulers / show guides / snapping. Drag from a ruler for a guide; hold ⌘ while dragging to skip snapping |

| `R` / `⇧R` | Re-roll / surprise |
| `1–9, 0` | Apply a look from the Looks bar, slots 1 to 10 (hover to preview) |
| `⇧1–9, ⇧0 or hold` | Save the current look into that slot and My looks |
| `[` / [[key:]]] / `\` | Collapse or expand the left panel, the right panel, the Looks bar |
| `F` | Focus mode: hide or bring back every panel |
| `⇧F` | Fullscreen viewer (Esc leaves) |
| `B (hold)` | Compare with original |
| `Delete` | Remove the selected effect, title or audio |
| `⌘D` | Duplicate layer |
| `⌥↑` / `⌥↓` | Move layer |
| `⌥S or ⌥-click a light` | Solo a layer (again, or Esc, to bring everything back) |
| `⇧A` | Audio (add or select) |
| `+` | Add a layer: title, text, logo, image, generator, audio or an effect |
| `M` | Sound on / off |
